Jeannette Kennedy, M.Sc., Registered Psychologist

Picture
Jeannette Kennedy is a Registered Psychologist and owner of SOAR Psychological Services, Inc., with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals in healing from trauma, improving emotional regulation, and enhancing relationships.
Jeannette worked within federal corrections as a first responder before becoming a psychologist. She later became a National Trainer in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) for front-line correctional staff across Canada. Her background also includes work with military members, veterans, first responders, and individuals navigating high-stress and emotionally demanding environments. Jeannette’s clinical approach is trauma-informed, evidence-based, and deeply relational. Her specialized training includes certification in EMDR Therapy, intensive training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, iRest® Yoga Nidra, and 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. She is currently immersed in advanced Internal Family Systems (IFS) training and consultation, an approach that honours the wisdom, complexity, and resilience within each person. She has completed Level 1 training and is currently pursuing certification through the IFS Institute. Her work increasingly focuses on helping individuals move beyond insight alone and toward meaningful, embodied change through greater self-understanding, emotional regulation, and compassionate internal leadership. In addition to clinical work, Jeannette has served in leadership roles within the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia, including as President in 2020. She values lifelong learning, community involvement, and creating spaces that foster both growth and authenticity.
Due to high caseload volume, Jeannette is not accepting individual therapy clients at this time.
